Ambassador Ohmori paid a courtesy call on President Boko

On the 20th December 2024, OHMORI Setsuo, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Botswana, paid a courtesy call on Adv. Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana, to inform him that his term of office had come to the end.
Ambassador Ohmori expressed his hope that Japan and Botswana, which share common principles such as the rule of law, would continue to strengthen their bilateral relations. He emphasized that Japan will continue to promote new areas of cooperation, such as research on ecosystems for job creation and drought response.
President Boko acknowledged the wide range of cooperative relationships that Botswana has had with Japan and highlighted the strong bond of trust between the two countries. He also said that he looks forward to participating in TICAD 9 next August.
