     On the 9th February 2023, Ambassador Ohmori Setsuo of Japan presented his credentials to His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana.
 
     At the ceremony, Ambassador Ohmori underscored his commitment as Ambassador to further cultivate the friendly relations between Japan and Botswana, noting that since Botswana’s Independence in 1966, there have been no major internal conflicts, and throughout her history, the government administrations have changed peacefully.
 
     His Excellency President Masisi referred to the strong, long-time bond between Botswana and Japan, which shares fundamental values such as peace, order and stability, human rights, and the rule of law, and mentioned that the two countries have also cooperated in the international arena. He said that he looks forward to the deepening of the relationship between the two countries especially in the areas of education and technology.
