2. Teacher Training Students (Closed)
The MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) offers scholarship programme for non-degree courese to Batswana teachers. Interested applicants should route their applications through their respective Education Regions and have applications submitted to the Training Coordinator's office at the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Educaiton in Gaborone.
3. Undergraduate Students (Not Available)
The Embassy of Japan in Botswana is currently only recruiting Research Students for Master's and Ph.D. programs. We cannot predict when recruitment for undergraduate students will open. We will not respond to queries regarding undergraduate scholarships.
We encourage ambitious students to complete their bachelor's degrees locally or in the region first, and then apply for the MEXT postgraduate scholarship to pursue world-class research in Japan. We look forward to welcoming your applications in the future.

E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarship for STI
E-JUST offers “E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarships for STI” – i.e. TICAD8 Scholarships to develop high quality human resources in the field of STI (Science, Technology and Innovation) toward future African STI network and beyond. These scholarships are provided under the cooperation of the Egyptian government and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).
TICAD8 Scholarships are available for applicants who wish to pursue their M.Sc. degree for Fall 2026 semester in the fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Basic and Applied Sciences, International Business and Humanities and Heritage Science Programs.
