Japan Funds-in-Trust (FIT) funded a workshop on a project to brand Chobe baskets held in Kasane. Since its collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Japan FIT has made a significant contribution towards the better understanding of intellectual property that could help the livelihoods and development in African countries.

Japan FIT supports technical assistance and capacity building in the field of industrial property in Africa. Projects under Japan FIT are developed and implemented in coordination with the Japan Patent Office.
